I currently use Keybase for this purpose, and while it's not entirely dead yet (slow-but-present maintenance at https://github.com/keybase/client/issues/24636#issuecomment-981931397 https://github.com/keybase/client/issues/24636#issuecomment-...), the writing's been on the wall since Zoom acquihired them. If I can figure out how this works, I'll be happy to give you my money.
