My Safari doesn't, in private mode, eventually, open the link at all: after customizing the privacy options (all off), Google still tries to bounce me through googleads.g.doubleclick.net, and I have that blocked. The way I “deal with this” is that I have a work Google account which I've signed into. With that in place, the link just opens. Obviously I have clicked "I accept" on a variety of forms saying Google is allowed to track my activity as they see fit. I guess you can run a browser without ad blocking and the link will open after accepting the terms. However, I prefer to still block ads even in private mode for various reasons.
