- jimkleiber 5y agoAt least for some things, which I'd call more emotional health rather than mental health, I think it's possible. When I was developing an app for this about 10 years ago, my goal was precisely that: use the phone to check in more with myself and less with other people. I even hacked together a solution on Android where when I would receive a notification from Facebook or Whatsapp or whatever, I would also trigger a notification from the app to checkin with myself. Basically hijacking the attention seeker from the social media network and trying to redirect it towards myself. While that little notification hijacking didn't seem to help much, the app I built for journaling really helped me get more in touch with how I was feeling and feel more confident in my ability to express it.
