I started in '00, and I still favour server-side rendered websites, with a smattering of JavaScript where needed. I've worked with Angular and React, and they have their place, but IMO 95% of websites just don't need them.

Oh, actually, I started building websites earlier than '00, maybe something like '95, but started doing it for a job in '00.
