JP wasn't cancelled. Some people at a private institutions didn't want to give him a platform - that doesn't equate this tragic 'cancelling' these snowflakes always harp on about. Just because something bad happened to you it doesn't mean your existence was invalidated. I'm reading an article on a popular site by that very person, who then says they got to do the thing they wanted to anyhow. Far far from cancelled.
A vote happened some time later and it turns out lots of people did want to give JP a platform. None of that is to do with free speech or whether a person should love a country.
Private institutions are not required to let anyone speak, and their rules are not related to a national character or identity of the country they happen to be located in. This is pointless pandering to nationalistic thinking that has zero value to anyone but the fans of JP who will lap it up.
