FDA Will Permanently Allow Abortion Pills by Mail
- maxehmookau 5y agoHooray! It's proven safe and effective and has been used throughout the world, especially during lockdowns. Reversing the temporary allowance would be pointless and just kowtowing to religious minorities and extremists at the expense of wider reproductive health. Hopefully the UK follows suit, although it's looking unlikely at this point.
- ravel-bar-foo 5y agoCan I order my other medications by mail, too? Maybe from a country where they are cheaper, like Canada?
- Schiendelman 5y agoFor many, you can, but it’s not likely legal.
- toomuchtodo 5y agoNot legal advice. As long as you’re not distributing it, and it’s not a controlled substance, I have never seen someone charged or prosecuted for having their prescriptions mailed from Canada or India, or making a run to Canada and Mexico for them. There is even a healthcare system in Utah (if I recall) that pays their members for their Mexico run for pharma that is substantially cheaper there than the US. Also, a recent HHS ruling allows the importation of drugs from Canada for a handful of states. > The rule paves the way for Florida, Colorado, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and New Mexico to begin the process of implementing laws they have passed to allow certain prescription drugs to be imported. The states must get approval from the HHS to begin their programs. https://www.aarp.org/politics-society/advocacy/info-2020/canada-drug-importation-ruling.html https://www.aarp.org/politics-society/advocacy/info-2020/can... https://www.aarp.org/content/dam/aarp/politics/advocacy/2020/03/comment-letter-drug-importation-proposed-rule-final-030620.pdf https://www.aarp.org/content/dam/aarp/politics/advocacy/2020...
