I'm going to tack on my non-positive and potentially nonconstructive opinion here. This is absolutely frivolous and a problem looking for a solution. It _is_ a modern replacement for `ls` in that it fulfills the creator's aesthetic desires for the program and solves none of the issues present with the original (in which there are close to zero).
