- addicted 5y agoThis is almost certainly wrong.
- conception 5y agoI was curious and looked it up. Couldn’t find a great source but this - https://www.wqad.com/article/news/local/drone/8-in-the-air/the-average-car-now-costs-25449-how-much-was-a-car-the-year-you-were-born/526-a9fa74c1-9ee2-4561-a6a2-0b596a3a4bf0 https://www.wqad.com/article/news/local/drone/8-in-the-air/t... in my five minutes of googling and various anecdotes agreeing that for the most part inflation adjusted average price of cars has never really changed. It’s always been about 20k until the 80s and then bumped up to about 26k.
- aaron695 5y agoOf course. A large amount as well. This is not addressed in the journal article. The news article is also bullshit, it's not lives saved AND $$$$ saved. The $$$$ is mostly from the lives saved. I would be very surprised if in the USA the cost to lives was the same order of magnitude as saved. In developing countries definitely. But who know for the USA since they left it out.
