Is any form of energy green? No form of energy comes without some environmental, health, or safety risks in their manufacture or operation. I live in a country with decent further potential for hydroelectric power. It is much argued just how ecologically-friendly constructing more hydro to offset fossil fuels would be. Would wind or solar be better? In principle, it's an interesting question. In practice, we know that all these forms are significantly less damaging than fossil fuels. (Some individually badly-sited installations, aside.) And we have terawatts and terawatts of fossil fuel power worldwide to replace. We need every carbon-neutral watt we can get right now.
