Amazon removed reviews of Xi Jinping's book on orders from Beijing
- sigmaprimus 5y agoInteresting, come to think of it I haven't seen any Winnie the Poo merch on there either.
- a9h74j 5y agoOne impressive thing: the speed of emergence through a visible-soft-power phase to a visible-hard-power phase.
- sigmaprimus 5y agoYes it is, I wonder if the "Visible" component of that statement is the most important part. There is so much propaganda floating around these days I sometimes wonder if the "Paper Tiger" concept deserves more credit than it gets. That being said it does seem that when Beijing speaks, companies listen and eagerly change their policies.

- a9h74j 5y agoYea, "who" (multiple) partially controls "visible" is a good question, and with what aims in mind?
- bitcharmer 5y agoI've seen multiple submissions about this in the last 24 hours. Despite being popular none of them made it to the front page. Looks like dang made sure this doesn't surface on HN. What a shame.
- philliphaydon 5y agoBeginning to think that HN has alot of chinese investment they are trying to protect.
