Whilst I missed the boat on Perl by a decade or two, I was exposed to it in a previous job. I was intrigued by its flexibility and power. It seemed so much could be accomplished with just the right knowhow. So gradually over the years I've dipped in and out of Perl. I've found the learning curve much steeper than Python, or even C, but once surmounted the payoff is immense. Guess what I did instead ;)
