as an artist I just always think: okay I like this style, and I want something like it, but I absolutely don't want to copy, so I change it so it can't be recognized as "theft" later.
- analog31 5y agoI wonder if another factor is that the artists themselves eventually get bored with their own stuff. I've read that this is a factor in the evolution of musical styles.
