Ratings and reviews are a crucial part of Amazon's e-commerce business, a major way of engaging shoppers. But Amazon complied, the two people said. Currently, on its Chinese site Amazon.cn, the government-published book has no customer reviews or any ratings. And the comments section is disabled. So it looks like they just left the five star reviews and deleted/hidden the rest
- smsm42 5y agoGoogle did the same for Disney and White House with Youtube. They didn't even have to threaten that hard.
- bitcharmer 5y agoI've seen multiple submissions about this in the last 24 hours. Despite being popular none of them made it to the front page. Looks like dang made sure this doesn't surface on HN. What a shame.
