The second book is markedly worse. Maybe it redeems itself in the end? I chucked it 2/3 of the way through. I do appreciate being introduced to the dark forest hypothesis. Maybe it’s the translation but Liu Cixin’s characterisations make Andy Weir look like David Mamet. Maybe it should’ve been a comic
