I’m looking at an image of an IBM PC on my iPhone (Safari). Is that expected?
- upheaval7276 5y agoYou might have to click on the images
- epgui 5y agoNope, still IBM. I just checked on my macbook pro (Chrome), same thing. Edit: It works on Safari (macbook pro), but not on my iphone safari.
- Retr0id 5y agoWould you mind trying again? I pushed a small change, which may improve the "reliability".
- ASalazarMX 5y agoiPhone with iOS 15.2 user here. It works as stated, first image is a mac, second is a PC/Mac that glitches differently on each refresh.
- ghostly_s 5y agoSame here, but I found the image flipped randomly over several reloads. Seems the race condition exists in that POC also. Perhaps there's a hardware condition in the authors' particular iDevice that causes it to consistently favor one path.
- ryanschneider 5y agoSame though once I got it to show the Mac it hasn’t flipped back to the PC (though it does flash briefly when I go directly to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DavidBuchanan314/ambiguous-png-packer/main/samples/mac_vs_ibm_output.png https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DavidBuchanan314/ambiguous...)
- wyldfire 5y agoGee, seems like this race condition is the kinda thing that would be used in a long chain of exploits to eventually escape and take control. Thankfully the bug is limited to how it's rendered...for now.
- cubefox 5y ago"Seems the race condition exists in that POC also." Not sure whether this was an intentional joke.
