I have dysgraphia and during grade school I was given an AlphaSmart to help in taking notes. It's a wonderful machine. Only edits text, powered by AA batteries, and no syncing, it just spits out text over a PS/2 or USB port. I'd love to have a slightly modernized version but it seems like they're dirt cheap ($60) on Amazon.
