Why is anything less than pure praise of vaccines considered anti-vaxx?
- Arnt 5y agoI don't think it is, in general, but that description seems to apply to what's submitted to HN. For example I've seen quite sensible articles arguing that vaccinating children under 12 is counter-productive and/or better not done, but not submitted here. So maybe the question can be changed to why is that kind of thing submitted to HN so much?
- peteradio 5y agoI'm not able to parse your last sentence do you mean "why isn't"? Otherwise it seems in tension with the rest you wrote. You'd have to use the search feature to see what gets submitted but doesn't reach an audience. Often times these discussions are flagged and if OP doesn't care to get it unflagged then it falls off the radar.
- Arnt 5y agoWell, submitted and upvoted, then. (I use hnapp.com and see things that receive 3 votes IIRC, or maybe 5.) Stories like this one receive upvotes. Its headline says "can't slow down covid", the body text doesn't go out on a limb and claim that the vaccinated majority are falling ill at the same rate as the unvaccinated minority, but it doesn't say anything else either. Just a slyly misleading headline and 14 upvotes.
