That is not a good summary. In fact, Im not sure it applies to this article at all? it doesn't say pilots are produced in China? There are no such thing as "pilot factories" or atleast they're not mentioned in the article.

I think the parent is intended to be humorous, with references to general shortage of a lot of products, and paralleling manufacturing in China.

  that post is a joke too. It’s rather good. A post about pilot factories and shipping pilots is obviously not serious, a post claiming to take that seriously also can’t be serious. Or if not, they should pretend it was a joke.
