I send my kids to private school even though I can't afford it. Public school in the US is just that bad.
- firstplacelast 5y agoDepends where you live. My public school education was amazing and I had better instructors than I did at both my name brand undergrad and highly regarded grad schools. But I grew up in a place most of those on this site would not want to live (including me, though I appreciate growing up there) and as such the teachers were paid enough to buy modest homes on their own salaries without a spouse/roommate.
