Actually lots of uninformed people have denied that, because their only source of information were corporations and politicians who deliberately mislead them about the children in cages thing. Others did begrudgingly admit it but then claimed that didn't matter because Obama is not president anymore, Trump is. They don't seem to be all that interested in children in cages anymore. No doubt it'll conveniently become a problem again in a few years time.
