NPM Is Down
- forrestbrazeal 5y agoSeems to be AWS-related. Nothing on their status page yet, but people's personal health dashboards are reporting another networking outage
- maxicarlos08 5y agoDoesn't seem to work in Europe, but works in a VPN
- Yuioup 5y ago{"error":"Service Unavailable"}

- 01acheru 5y agoYup, also from Italy status 503
- mtschopp 5y agoCircleCI has problems downloading npm packages either
- justin_oaks 5y agoDo businesses that run Node.js use some sort of caching proxy to protect from cases like this, or does npm make something like that difficult to implement?
- ingalls 5y agoGenerally Docker. We install all required node deps during our docker build to ensure that running the platform does not require npm.
- justin_oaks 5y agoMakes sense. Using Docker would make sure you can deploy existing software. NPM being down would prevent upgrading libraries or rebuilding the Docker image, but that'd only be a problem if NPM was down for a long time.

- justin_oaks 5y agoExactly what I was looking for. The linked page even describes how to configure the npm CLI to default to the company registry.
