(And is that a good or bad thing?) I don't think that would work well; you'd need to add numbers of upvotes as well. There's a huge difference between a comment that 50 people hated and 0 people liked and a comment that 150 people hated and 100 liked. They're both '-50' but have different social contexts. I do think some form of artificial difficulty might be a good idea though.
