The most valuable aspect of these frameworks I have found personally is using it in combination with Marked for blogs/docs. Markdown to blog frameworks usually come with too much restriction and configuration overhead to justify those restrictions in my opinion. These frameworks allow me to write about 20 lines of code using Marked to get a docs site up and running and throw in Pico/other css framework for the entirety of the styles. Clients generally will have at least one request that would leave me battling a full markdown render framework but these stylesheets allow for greenfield changes to both the css via classes (keeping a clear separation) and the functional logic as you don't have to hook into any framework logic.
