I tend to not use debuggers because I've done so much work on real-time, asynchronous, multi-threaded and multi-process systems. If you stop the world in a debugger to poke at things, that tends to mask problems that do exist and create problems that don't really.
Besides, you've got to have decent logs to be able to debug issues that happened in production.
Printf, logging, debuggers, repls, they are all tools in the toolbelt that you use when it is appropriate. And don't use when it isn't appropriate.
