121 sponsors is pitiful. Consider me in, and I hope everyone in here who honestly wants this to happen considers sponsoring too.

- gowld 5y ago$60/yr for an unfinished touchpad driver is high.
- canadaduane 5y ago$60/yr for a touchpad driver for every Linux user in the world is quite reasonable. Plus, you get to stop paying after it's done, and no one can take it away from you :)
- reginold 5y agoI sponsor this project for $5/month. Started a few months ago. I'm happy to support! For Linux desktop to succeed with consumers like me, it has to move beyond being for mechanics only, which means we have to do our part and pay money for it.
- notthathardbro 5y ago1. The "developer" in this thread, isn't doing any dev work. Hint, there's not a single link to a PR or commit in the blog post as far as I can tell. 2. The same "lead" on this project is mostly just filing issues on other projects and writing PM-esque summary blog posts about the efforts. 3. Virtually all of the work has been on "back-porting" features from Wayland to X11. 4. A number of the things that are claimed in this post have been in progress for years and were done by "upstream" devs anyway. They're literally just included for fluff. 5. Man, this is just mind-boggling. Most (no, actually all) of these bullet points are "already done", "going to be done by upstream anyway" or "under investigation". HOW ARE PEOPLE CONTINUALLY FALLING FOR THIS? Even the Sway PR is from Jan2020. So, yeah, I'm not interested in sponsoring and continue to be surprised at how people fawn over this. But then again, I pay deep attention to who/where the work is being done in Wayland these days. The people that deserve funding are the ones going and actually doing the implementation work, cutting cross toolkits, etc.
