All of that looks decent except for the barrel power adapter.
- fsflover 5y agoIt can also be charged from usb-c.
- bubblethink 5y agoIt's 2-3 generations old at this point. Really wouldn't recommend getting something this old. Comet Lake -> Ice Lake -> Tiger Lake -> Alder Lake (now). The starlabs starbook is quite interesting if you care about coreboot.
- jmrm 5y agoWhat's the problem with barrel plug (outside being a standard)? I'm pretty curious about it.
- devwastaken 5y agoBarrel plugs weaken over time because of strain, and if you pull on it the wrong direction you're liable to destroy the connector inside the laptop. Apple magsafe or Lenovo's Thinkpad charger design can easily breakaway. Barrel adapters are also easy to confuse with each other. Personally I want a magnetic USB c power delivery that doesn't suck.
- jmrm 5y agoBoth the old and the new Magsafe connectors and magnetic USB Type C cables are the best in this kind of situations, but I personally only would accept any other kind of USB charger if I'm totally sure it's easy to replace that part in the laptop and doesn't require to do a soldering job.
