I don't see the correlation between your two sentences. There is an existing group of young males that are insecure, may have anger and/or anxiety problems, spend too much time on 4chan/reddit/social media as a whole, and lacks physical connection. What makes you think that they aren't trying to establish a relationship? They certainly are failing, which is why this article and lots of other exists. There is a whole community of pick up artists trying to give advice to these people, though this is often dating/one night stand advice more than relationship advice. There are also feminists trying to teach these young males how to approach women, and talking about the subject.
