Rocket scientists and brain surgeons aren't necessarily more clever
- belval 5y ago> "It is possible that both neurosurgeons and aerospace engineers are unnecessarily placed on a pedestal," the study reflected. "Other specialties might deserve to be on that pedestal, and future work should aim to determine the most deserving profession." OR rocket scientists and neurosurgeons have other predispositions which simply aren't measured by childish cognitive test such as "giving a definition to a complex word" and "rotating a 3D model in your head". I have such a strong dislike for these pseudo-scientific studies because they build a weird limited definition of "cleverness" and "intelligence" and then they publish conclusions based on a model built on their field's preconceived notions of what is "intelligence". It would be all fun and games if they kept to their academic journal, but then the researchers will say stuff like the above quote as if they had proven something.
