I disagree with the headline - we should want ways to get us to the places we're trying to go as quickly and efficiently as possible.
As the author points out, high speed rail is superior for regional travel in many ways and we should want more of THAT.
- nine_k 5y agoI'd like a calculation that compares the carbon cost of building an airport and building, say, 500km of a high-speed rail line. I love trains though; they are much easier in many regards, and give you more comfort or more chance to work while traveling than a plane.
