I think Urbit + Web3 (and yes some blockchain tech) is a pretty cool frontier that has the chance to fix a lot of incentives that lead to megacorp centralization and SaaS for Web2. I don't get the dismissal. Running linux servers is too hard for people - that (and spam) is why the promise of the decentralized web (Web1) failed - and why federated systems built on this stack like Mastodon are dead on arrival. We won't get out of the local maximum we're trapped in without the new tech. Until recently I thought we may never get out, but now I have some hope.
