I have been avoiding HDMI like the plague due to various issues with devices and cables. The only way it has reliably worked has been where the use has been WAY under what devices and cables have been specced for. Anything remotely close to max speeds/features has been riddled with problems.
DisplayPort has been less of a hassle, but probably mostly because I settled for 4k60 which HDMI 2.0 supposedly handles with ease.
Devices with DP2.0 will appear any time now. On paper DP2.0 shound handle 10k60 displays without compression in 8 bit, or 8k60 (10bit) also without compression.
