- LorenPechtel 5y agoI don't know if their numbers are accurate but the basic idea actually is fair. A fair part of the retail cost of power is the cost of getting it to the consumer. It's the dirty secret of solar power--the numbers only make sense if you can sell back power at near retail rather than at wholesale. I don't understand the charge for simply having panels, though.
