I think it’s mostly that they are incentivized to let some voices be amplified on their platform. The radical right is good for business so they let disinformation fester to make a few extra dollars.
- lr4444lr 5y agoI'm sorry, but I don't see how this is any different than networks being concerned about the ratings of each show, or Hollywood about projected return on budget when creating projects.
- bitexploder 5y agoIt’s the scale of it. How innocuous it seems. How One sided the moderation has been. Have you seen Facebook feeds? It blows my mind the amount of time people spend on that brain rot. It’s meant to be engaging and suck people in. In an customized way per individual. Mass media just can’t compete with Facebook for what it does. If you don’t see the difference I guess we can politely agree we live in different realities.
