I've spent months at my wife's grandpa's house, they are lacking (at least without making a full day's trip) in almost every modern convenience. What is funny though is once we close on it, he's loading up his 5th wheel and driving it to an even more remote property his friend owns out in Colorado. They are fully off-grid.
