- betwixthewires 5y agoThat's because it has, at least the wider "normie" internet has. If you want anything cool online, you're going to be interacting with a bunch of other Cool Thing™ enthusiasts and not much else. Want to use ActivityPub, Gemini, XMPP? That cute girl at the bar is not going to be available to you, you'll be interacting almost exclusively with dorks like me. The modern popular internet that most people use is a 5 store strip mall with UX and design choices that seem like they were designed by Dr Strangelove.
