If you review the copious amounts of memes in Reddit’s HermainCainAward sub reddit (“HCA”) [1], created by and shared across social media by people who go on to die from COVID but did not believe it was a risk, the evidence is very clear that the cohort who wants to avoid vaccination and then races to the hospital for treatment (while not wanting to pay for it) believes that universal healthcare is socialism [2] [3]. This makes sense though, as the majority of hospitalizations for COVID currently are the unvaccinated [5], with a cohort that skews a combination of uneducated/undereducated and conservative [6]. This is a distinct cohort from those who are willing to obtain a vaccination but have been unable to, for whatever reason (per the Kaiser Family Foundation's vaccine dashboard).     I'm not interested in getting put into the HN penalty box arguing data with a skeptic/conspiracy theorist/antivaxxer. I provided data supporting my thesis around belief systems and their rigidity. Maintain whatever position you choose.

      I’m not trying to put you into a penalty box just trying to say that it’s easy to make assumptions about “those other people” who aren’t getting vaxxed, which are often oversimplified assumptions that are wrong. Many uneducated people are not to blame for their lack of education. Personally, since you want to make ad hominem allusions to my mindset, I will clarify that I’m not anti-vaxx. I took the vaxx despite being very low risk. I believed in the goal of herd immunity. And I was labeled a conspiracy theorist early on for saying a pandemic was coming and that there was likely undetected spread, despite WHO insistence to the contrary. I was labeled a conspiracy theorist for saying masks might be helpful when the cdc said otherwise. When I said a lab leak was plausible I was called a conspiracy theorist. At this point I would be embarrassed to be anything but.
