CEPL: A lispy and REPL-friendly Common Lisp library for working with OpenGL
- matheusmoreira 5y agoThat's awesome. I wonder how it works. I tried making something like this when I was a kid but the synchronization between the concurrent loops became pretty complex.
- crispyalmond 5y agoAwesome to see this posted again! Hopefully, this gains some traction now. It is pretty cool to develop with OpenGL in real-time. Also, there are some videos on this posted by the author[0]. - runetech 5y agoI really enjoyed Baggers videos. The interactive experience is amazing, was a fun "sideways" way of looking at graphics programming from what I was used to. Cudos for bringing back fun in exploratory programming mr Baggers, you made me a fan! :-)
- podiki 5y agoYes, thanks for linking to the videos, the author has done a great job showing people how to use both CEPL and OpenGL/Lisp. It has been a while since I've used it, but really felt like such a natural fit for graphics programming.
- ngcc_hk 5y agoOne of the two issues are a) staying current with the os does it work under new mac for both os and arm … an open issue with ccl (which itself a great pain to me as I rely upon it for decade) in mac. Seems the issue is still opened but is it resolved? Any test of other max release since then at least big sur? Possible under arm mac? (Unix to me Ubuntu and windows is still 10 but 11 coming. For graphic all these need maintenance effort and I am not confident for a 2 year old release. In general lisp is good but gpu, OpenGL, metal, vulvan, direct … etc. not sure b) OpenGL … sigh is it still have a future … wonder
- bowwoden 5y agoWeird this is everything I've been reading about the past two days
