- therein 5y agoCan't force me to disclose my subdomains. Maybe for the @ A record.
- sam0x17 5y agoICANN can do whatever they want, so they could do things differently for this extension. Wouldn't have to publicly disclose either -- just to the auditors at ICANN who would check yearly that all the IPs that have been mapped have a paper trail showing only solar or renewable energy sources, something of that nature. It's not as impossible as it sounds, especially considering the small number of entities that would do it. Analogous to filing your taxes every year, and we do that just fine.
- messo 5y agoThat ... is actually an awesome idea! The condition for getting a domain name should be to have a public consumption and battery status page.
- justsaying9 5y agoYes, and it should cost $999/year for the registration fee, funneled into the pocket of some giant virtue signalling multinational corporation, who uses the proceeds to buy media time calling for the excommunication of anyone who refuses to bend a knee and pledge obeisance to Al Gore and the high priests of the Carbon Cult. I approve.
- callamdelaney 5y agoWhich anybody could fake - literally pointless tld. What business could benefit from this?
- elwell 5y agoMaybe leverage "specialization + trade" and have some 'SCDN' (Solar Content Delivery Network).
- Beefin 5y agosuper cool idea, anybody have connects at ICANN?
- ip26 5y agoNah, it would be .sol
- jtsiskin 5y agoWhy the distinction between solar vs other renewable energy sources?
- jackvalentine 5y ago.waterwheel .volcanopower
- bruce343434 5y agoI'd buy a .volcanopower .turbine would also be fun.
