Is tech hurting American soft power?

And that means the majority of the world lives on technology that is based, for the most part, on American values like free speech, privacy, respect for diversity and decentralization. Seriously? Privacy? None of the quoted companies even pretend to have anything to do with privacy, bar Apple( who still mostly pretend). Decentralisation ? I can't even be bothered to continue the article, i seriously doubt working on such a flawed premise would result to anything sensible.
