I always found the persistence of some tech companies (i.e. ASUS, Samsung) in using "Booth Babes" to be so strange. Do they ever find a direct correlation between the use of models and the interest in their product?
Or to put it another way: do you see Apple or Google using booth babes to drum up attention for their new products? Nope.
- serge2k 15y agoAre you saying Steve Jobs isn't a booth babe? It's dumb, but it makes more sense for samsung/ASUS/whoever since I would guess that a lot of their consumer market share is young men.
- aphexairlines 15y agoGoogle uses celebrities instead (TV spot with Lady Gaga using Chrome).
- ary 15y agoI liken it to (in the United States) one gas station advertising at $3.00 and another at $2.99. The latter will get more people to pull in based on lizard-brain impulse. Young men are (mostly) going to have their attention snap to where ever there are young ladies. Just human nature.
