What Hypocrisy Feels Like
- h2odragon 5y agoHow many people have a "vision of utopia" that they had much to do with imagining? That's more of a social construct "here's the things you're supposed to want / view as best in society" we soak up as propaganda in early education and then rarely try to consciously reprogram later. Imagining a "utopian society" is the nadir of intellectual wanking: even if your vision is the perfect world for you; it wont be for others who have a different idea of what utopia should be, and you're going to have to compromise or conquer theirs to have yours. Contentment is only possible withing the bounds of ones own action. Social contact necessitates deviance from that ideal.
