I've got news for you: your life depends on closed source commercial software. Every time to take a lift, drive a car, fly an airplane, use your credit card, use your bank, drink water, buy products, use electricity, is a passenger on a ship etc. you rely on commercial software. And yet somehow the planet hasn't exploded yet. So yes look around and notice how the world actually works. Having said that, I think FOSS is a good thing. But make sure companies pay $ for it. Don't give it away for $0 and then sulk when people pay you exactly that in return.
