- throwaway_2009 5y agoThe term "breakthrough case" is a complete misnomer. It's misinformation because it implies that these are somehow rare events. Coronavirus vaccines don't _prevent_ cases. They somewhat reduce incidence/transmission, and dramatically reduce adverse outcomes. If you go outside during a storm with an umbrella and still get wet, it's not "breakthrough rain", it's just... rain.
- SpikeDad 5y agoInteresting that it doesn't appear anyone with casual exposure from the wedding guests tested positive. Only the guests and family members in close contact with each other for an extended amount of time. That would seem to imply that lockdowns would be an effective measure to prevent spreading considering the behavior of the new omicron variant. Lets see how the people of the US respond to this knowledge.
