I gave up battling with half-baked GPU drivers, buggy desktop environments, zero backward compatibility in 2012, when I switched from Linux to Mac, and all my problems vanished at once. Remarkably, MacOS is POSIX-compliant, so basically a well-designed desktop environment over Unix derivative, something that Linux failed to reach in 30 years.
