I didn't mean to sound glib. I'm sorry. I just didn't find anything new on the site and wanted to know if maybe I missed something they offered that was different.
- onassar 5y agoThanks for clarifying. I think there are better ways to ask a question like that (eg. "what differentiates x from y.."). It's also built on an assumption: looking at those two sites side by side, there's nothing glaringly obvious that one is "much better designed" than the other. One thing I try to remember is that this site is probably something someone loves and takes pride in. It's fine to offer a critique and constructive crits, but I try to remember that a sharp comment like that (without much seemingly obvious interest in an answer) can be super tough for the designer.
- GeorgeBaird 5y agoI get that people might have their esteem tied up in their work, but there's no post explaining what they were after, no intent, and unless you created the site I see no defense of its merit. I could have been less sharp, but my question still stands.
- jimmytidey 5y ago"I'm really interested in space weather. For me the NOAA site works really well, but I can see how this is a fun passion project." Or just don't say anything.
