Inspired by my own experience with AWS, by this thread [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26855037 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26855037], and by other discussions about the same issue, my team and I decided to do something about it.
We believe that a developer should not be bothered by dealing with the infrastructure. Whether that is via AWS management console or tools like Terraform and Serverless Framework. She should spend almost all the time in the code.
So, we made Mantil - a serverless development toolkit for Go and AWS Lambda. It brings the experience of local development while actually working in the cloud. Unlike other frameworks that runs locally, Mantil runs on AWS and has a CLI to talk to cloud installation.
Mantil is written in Go and made for Go programmers. We strive to avoid unnecessary configurations and special languages. Almost everything can be setup via conventions and Go code.
Please, check this project out, hope it helps. Curious about your feedback.
