In principle I don't mind ads, but I do mind the cross-domain tracking. If sites served ads from their own domains, I'd keep them. I consider it up to web site owners to figure out how to make money from their site if that's what they want to do. Until they and the ad providers come up with an acceptable and practical way of doing that, I am willing to look at their content as long as they're willing to serve it to me. Then there are also the ads that are annoying: those with moving parts or sound. I will always block those.
