This attitude is so peculiar and pernicious. As far as I can tell it's basically: when someone does something we find bad or wrong the only appropriate reaction is gratitude for their hard work and effort. Any other reaction could lead to them feeling bad. That's bullshit. People make mistakes. People do malicious things under the guise of making a mistake and then hide behind this weirdly passive attitude.
