Maybe he learned programming on heavy-weight IDEs and got trapped mentally in those?
Maybe he just thinks differently than you do? His body of work is not suggestive of someone "trapped" in an IDE or other dysfunctional midset.

I wasn't referring to his blogging style, I was referring to his description of his "struggle" development process. > Maybe he just thinks differently than you do? He certainly does. He might want to find out what's going on by talking to other developers. One of his comments in this thread says he uses vim, so it's not an IDE issue.
