ultimately I hope we evolve to a system where each person's vote is weighted differently, based on factors of merit. we'd never grab 10 people at random and let them vote and have these rando's majority choice be what surgical procedure to perform on a loved one. and yet we're doing that with democracy in the US at least. and enemies are exploiting it, increasingly. I for one have concluded the stakes are too high to let that kind of madness continue.
